Leah from www.workathomemums.com.au - Hello & Yoo Hoo

Postby WAHM on Tue Nov 13, 2007 3:33 pm

www.workathomemums.com.au website was created and is managed by little old me. I am based in the Lower Blue Mountains in Sydney, Australia. The WAHM’s job link and resource website was established on the 1st August 2007.

I am a first time 41yo mother who wants to spend lots of quality time with my beautiful 12 month old baby daughter Keely Grace who is growing up ever so quickly. She is so gorgeous, cute and oh so naughty……. I just adore and love her so much it hurts. I don't want to miss out on special moments, her first steps and her first words. I want her to be close by me and I want to know that she is safe and secure.I share my life with my dear partner David, part time step daughter Sally, a crazy Bengal Cat called Mia and also have two older step teens Jessica and Daniel who reside in my gorgeous hometown of Newcastle. Yes, I am a Novocastrian and I am extremely proud of it. I miss Newcastle, my family and my friends terribly at times and look forward to the day we can relocate back home.

After 10 months, I really needed to earn some money to help my partner pay the bills and run the household. We started to struggle financially and my credit card bills were maxxed out. I soon realised that for the first time in my life I had no money in the bank to sustain my champagne lifestyle, Shock Horror....... to live on a beer budget, I had to do something...FAST.!!! I wanted and needed a job that I could work from home that would fit in around my family committments and my family day care arrangements.

I began researching different types of work from home options while on maternity leave from my full time job to seek a complete career change. There was no way in the world I wanted to go back to full time work, my whole work perspective changed once I had a baby. I quickly discovered that it is a minefield out there. There are so many scams, rip of merchants and money launderers that just want to take your money and run with false promises advertising get rich quick schemes to vunerable mums.

My hopes and long term goal is to help other mums connect with family friendly employers that offer flexible work conditions and a work life balance. I want to help make a difference to other people lives, empowering mothers to Dream, Believe, Act & Achieve.

So here it is a website that is totally dedicated to jobs that can be worked from home and freelance opportunities. I hope to bring candidates a selection of relevant positions and links from other websites from as many sources as possible for genuine work from home opportunities

Thanks for the encouragement.

It drives me to make it a better website for all the WAHM’s out there in cyberspace.

If I can just help one mum find a job and hear a success story - WELL........that just makes my day

I know I'm late at welcoming you, but better late than never!

Welcome to Wahmtastic! Maren has set up a great site here.

I've looked at your site a few times, but may need to look closer again. Good luck with it all and I hope it brings you much success!
